VOTER REGISTRATION

There are several ways to register to vote:

  • Through the Department of Motor Vehicles. When you are required to update your driver's license, you can also register to vote. Or, sign up for "MyDMV" here.
  • Pick up a form at the Town Clerk's Office, 11 Main Street, South Salem, Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The voter registration form can be picked up, filled out and mailed to the Westchester County Board of Elections.
  • In-person Voter Registration at the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas Street, White Plains, NY 10601, Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Voter Registration Forms: may be downloaded (English / Spanish), completed, and mailed to Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas Street, White Plains, NY 10601 by the appropriate date.
    Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age on the date of election.
    A citizen of the United States.
    Live at your present address for at least 30 days before the election.
    Not in jail or on parole for a felony conviction.
    Not claim the right to vote in another jurisdiction

Absentee Ballots:


Applications for absentee ballots for all elections except school elections are available at the Town Clerk's office, can be mailed upon request or are available here online or here for Spanish. We are happy to mail applications directly to college students.

Election Officer:

As Election Officer, the Town Clerk acts as liaison to the Westchester County Board of Elections, receiving election supplies and returning them along with election results.

Election Inspectors:

The Westchester County Board of Elections is seeking qualified individuals to work as Election Inspectors. We are especially in need of poll inspectors who are proficient in both English and Spanish.

Election Inspector Requirements:

  •         You must be at least 18 years of age
  •         You must be a registered voter in Westchester County
  •         Hours are from 5:30 A.M. – 9:30 P.M.
