Frederick P. Rose & Rock Shelter Preserves
The Frederick P. Rose & Rock Shelter Preserves of The Westchester Land Trust consists of 180 acres in the northwest corner of Waccabuc. This property was once productive crop land and pasture but has long since reverted to forest. the trail is 1.9 miles
Donated by Adam Rose, including part of a State wetland, upland and a secluded ravine have access from Route 121 across from Todd Road. The Lewisboro Horseman's Association Trails follow the southern edge of the wetland and connect to other Waccabuc riding trails to the east. Walking trails begin on the driveway between two existing houses on Route 121 and connect to Rock Shelter Road to the east and along a steep ridge under the power lines to Chapel Road on the north.
Directions: The Rose Preserve is located on Route 121 (North Salem Road) across from the entrance to Todd Road. Park on the side of Todd Road. The Rock Shelter Preserve is located at 90 Chapel Road.
