ONATRU RESERVATION RULES & REGULATIONS


Onatru Reservation was donated by Mrs. Walter S. Poor to be used and maintained, at all times, in its natural state as a wildlife and conservation area and for limited recreational purposes relating thereto, which may include the use thereof by Girl and Boy Scouts for camping purposes with proper supervision by adult leaders under regulations adopted by the Town Officials.

  1. Any party or group desiring to use the area shall first register with the Town Clerk of the Town of Lewisboro, giving the following information:
    1. Name of organization or group
    2. Name, address and telephone number of persons in charge
    3. Number expected in party
    4. Date and hours of use
    5. Type of use (camping, nature study, etc.)
  2. All persons using area shall be at all times under supervision of competent, responsible adults
  3. Any accidents or injuries to persons or property shall be immediately reported to the Town Clerk.
  4. No refuse shall be scattered or left in the area and each group shall clean up the area before leaving, so that the area shall be left in as good condition as found on entering the property.
  5. .All camp fire shall be completely extinguished before leaving.
  6. Following the use of the area, a report signed by the person in charge of the group shall be submitted, on forms supplied by the Town Clerk, and stating:
    1. Name of organization
    2. Date and time of use
    3. Number of persons in party
    4. Any damage to property found on entering premises or that occurred while there
    5. Any unusual incidents connected with the use of the property
    6. Comments or suggestions for improvements of facilities.
