The Brownell Preserve is owned by the Town of Lewisboro. It was a gift from the Brownell family to be used for passive recreation. In 1997 Scouts Danny Petre and Terry McNicholas created the marked trails and built a kiosk. The 2.2 mile loop trail covers heavily forested, hilly terrain and then follows the path of a stream running along the northern boundary. There are scenic views across to Lake Katonah and beyond.
At the intersection of Rt. 121 N and Rt. 35, turn onto Rt. 121 N. Follow Rt. 121 to Rt. 138 and turn left on Rt. 138. Follow Rt. 138 about 3.2 miles and turn right onto Harriet Lane. At the end of Harriet Lane there is a parking area.
