Complaint of Real Property Assessment 2024

To file a complaint of real property assessment, you must complete the application RP-524 and it must be received by the Assessor's office by June 18, 2024.  We will need 3 copies of the application RP-524 and 3 copies of all evidence.

When deciding to file a complaint, it is important to remember that under the law there is a presumption that the assessment is correct.  The burden of proof is on the person filing the complaint to show the assessment is incorrect.  The person filing the complaint MUST provide convincing evidence to the Board of Assessment Review at the time of the complaint is filed.  Failure to provide evidence will be considered willful negligent and your application RP-524 will be dismissed.
