Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee Mission Statement
The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee’s mission is to:
- Engage the Lewisboro community in order to inform the future of our town and capture this vision in an updated Comprehensive Plan.
- Ensure fair and equal opportunities for all members of the community to provide input throughout the multi-year process.
Why is inclusive and wide-reaching public participation so important?
- We want true representation of the people who live and work in Lewisboro
- We want people to see their ideas in the Plan and feel connected to it
- Developing the Plan is an investment in the future of Lewisboro
What will public participation look like?
- Interactive and engaging public meetings:
- In-person open houses: drop in, move through interactive stations, share your thoughts directly to the consultant team and engage in small-group discussions
- Virtual surveys mirroring the content of the open houses
- Translation services, closed captioning, and childcare will be made available wherever possible (please send requests to steering [at] planlewisboro.com)
- The public participation process is designed to solicit feedback directly from individuals and allow individuals to share their feedback directly with the consultant team, without intermediaries of any kind
- Multiple opportunities to participate along the way:
- Meeting series #1 – January and February 2023 (Complete)
- Creating a vision statement for Lewisboro, identifying Town strengths and weaknesses
- Meeting series #2 – Late Spring 2023
- Including Hamlet specific meetings
- Deep dive into specific goals and objectives
- Meeting series #3 – Late 2023/early 2024
